Home is Where the Navy Sends Us: The First Few Days

I finally had a moment to upload all of our travel pictures from April. We left South Carolina and headed to see family in Georgia for a few days, then drove from April 11 -17 to Washington stopping in a new hotel each night and spending a little extra time in Salt Lake City, Utah and Portland, Oregon.

There are a lot of pictures, so this post has those from the first few days of the trip.

Our empty home in SC

Lucy and I headed to Georgia a few days before Tim and the pups followed us. She sat in my lap for the entire drive.

Lucy visited all the kitties at my parent's house & tried out their cat tree. It convinced her that she needed one of her own. We spend Easter with my parents, while Tim spend Easter in SC with his mom.

The pups arrived with Tim on Monday.

We left again on Wednesday & spent a good portion of our first day behind this mess. It's a overturned semi hauling onions. Thankfully it was under this overpass, so after a couple of hours were were able to bypass the mess by taking the exit/on ramps.

Lucy loved exploring the car & sitting on her pillow

watching the road.

We stopped in Metropolis, Illinois on our first day to see Superman!

Lucy loved sleeping with us on our first night in the hotel.

Up next! The first sight of the Rockies & Utah. I didn't take any pictures through Missouri, Nebraska and Wyoming... they were flat. All three states were the same, all flat.
